Celebrities Who Studied Together

The world is a small place for celebrities, and not just in Hollywood. Did you know that Will Smith's wife was best friend with Tupac from high school? A lot of the celebrities had known each other for years before they became the stars that we know of, and some of them have remained good friends for the years that followed. Here are some of them.

Jim is probably the most likable character in The Office, where Ryan is...well, sometimes likable, not the time when he set the (spoiler alert) kitchen on fire at least. But do you know that they were actually best friends from high school? And funny enough, it was B.J. Novak, the actor behind Ryan, who convinced John to be an actor. There wouldn't be Jim without Pam of course, but there wouldn't be Jim without Ryan either, in real life.

Can you picture Cameron Diaz and Snoop Dogg together? Maybe not. But did you know that they actually went to the same high school? Though they didn't go to the same class since Snoop Dogg is a year older. They still had some sort of interactions back then. As Cameron Diaz recalled "I remember him. He was very tall and skinny, wore lots of ponytails on his head." Something never changes, eh?

Arguably two of the most beautiful actresses there is, not to mention their great acting skills. Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts both had their share of fame over the last few decades. But did you know that they knew each other before they got famous? They attended the same high school back in Australia, and their friendship was forged during an Australian coming-of-age dramedy.

Kate Hudson and Zooey Deschanel

The best thing that happened in the year 2000? Almost Famous. There is just something special about this movie and the authenticity in it since it was based on director Cameron Crowe's personal experience. Kate Hudson and Zooey Deschanel were both in the movie, though they did not have share scenes. However, did you know that they went to the same school? Yes, they were former classmates, with Jake Gyllenhaal as well.

Nicolas Cage and Lenny Kravitz

Nicolas Cage. The man. The King. The Cage. There can only be one Nicolas Cage. However, did you know that he went to the same high school as Lenny Kravitz? According to Lenny Kravitz, they were both in the "Oklahoma" play together. Again, kind of difficult to picture them together, but Hollywood is a small place after all. Oh, Lenny Kravitz also knew Slash from the same high school, though he said they just hung out on the hallway.

Tupac and Jada Pinkett Smith

Tupac was one of the best rappers ever lived, with a unique and complex talent that transcended the genre. However, did you know that he knew Will Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, all the way back in high school? Not only that, but they had also been extremely close during those years. Years after his passing, Jada talks of the bonds and connection she had with Tupac that can never be replaced.

Maroon 5 and 22 Jump Street, not sure if they are something you would picture together. But in real life, Adam Levine, the singer from Maroon 5, is great friends with Jonah Hill since childhood. Jonah Hill even officiated Adam Levine's wedding! As Jonah Hill put it "Our dads met in the principal's office in junior high. We were in carpool; we lived at each other's houses." Good to see that friendships do last.

Adele and Jessie J

The BRIT School, a British performing arts and technology school, located in the London Borough of Croydon, England, is a cradle for the coming stars. Among the alumni were Adele and Jessie J - little do we know that apart from graduating from the same school, they even studied together! As Jessie J recalled of their times there, "Oh my God do you know I am going to be Jessie J and you are going to be Adele." Well, now they are.

Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, and Robert Downey Jr.

Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, and Robert Downey Jr., what do these three have in common? It turns out they attended the same high school. It goes to show you how Hollywood can be a small place - all of them attended Santa Monica High School. Oh, and it didn't stop there - Emilio Estevez and Sean Penn went to the same school as well. Little do they know that they will all have a career in acting...or do they?

Kevin Spacey and Val Kilmer

Unlike other sweet tales of friendship here, the relationship between Kevin Spacey and Val Kilmer didn't age well. They both attended Chatsworth High School, and they knew each other since then. However, allegedly Spacey borrowed a loan from Kilmer's dad that he never returned, and the feud just went on for years.

David Duchovny and John F. Kennedy Jr.

The truth is out there... David Duchovny is known for his character Fox Mulder in the sci-fi classic The X-Files, but little do we know that in real life, he also had some connection with the elite up there. He attended the same high school as John F. Kennedy Jr., son of JFK, and even shared the same room while on a field trip to Washington in 1975.

Ed Helms and Brian Baumgartner

While it might be common knowledge that The Office stars John Krasinski and B.J. Novak went to high school together, there's another pair from the show that might surprise you. Kevin and Andy...or Drew. And yes, Kevin with his famous chili. Ed Helms and Brian Baumgartner actually went to the same high school, and even starred in a couple of plays together. As Ed Helm put it, "[Brian] is actually NOTHING like Kevin and is a smart, hilarious, down-to-earth fella. And a freakishly good golfer." Wow, didn't expect that from you, Kevin.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

This is one of the more famous pair of good friends in Hollywood. The friendship between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck went way back when they were young, and it is still going strong. Apart from going to the same school, they were actually childhood friends. As they grew up, they starred in movies together, and often help each other out in writing scripts. Their decades-long friendship is the definition of bromance.

Eddie Redmayne and Prince William

Eton College, the cradle of Britain's future as some might say. Its alumni included British prime ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron, as well as Bear Grylls and Christopher Lee, so we are not surprised to see Prince William there. But Eddie Redmayne as well? Yes, the actor who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Stephen Hawkins. And it didn't stop there - he and Prince William were actually classmates. They even played rugby together!

Robert Pattinson and Tom Sturridge

Robert Pattinson rose to fame with the Twilight saga, getting worldwide attention after the release of the first Twilight movie. However, did you know that he is also a good friend with fellow actor Tom Sturridge? The friendship started when they were in high school. Little did they know that they'd both be famous in the movie business in the years that followed.

Here they are! Some of the celebrities who happened to studied together in school. Which one surprises you the most? Eddie Redmayne and Prince William? Or perhaps the all-star lineup with Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, and Robert Downey Jr.? If you found this interesting, why not share this with your friends?
