The Young and the Restless - What Happened to the Cast?

A TV series that started in 1973 and spanned over 7000 episodes, The Young and the Restless tells the tale of the struggle behind the business, and Abbott and Newman clans. It's been 47 years since the show first aired, and it shows no signs of stopping. All their episodes tells a different story and it's hard for its fans to forget all they saw in the show. Here's what happened to the cast of the show. 

Doug Davidson - Paul Williams

Doug Davidson is one of the veterans from the show, joining the long-running soap opera since 1978. Paul Williams is the son of Carl and Mary Williams, and it's nothing short of a roller-coaster during the past 47 years. Apart from the show, he also took part in other TV series and movies, such as Dreaming of Joseph Lees and Mr. Write. He, along with his wife, also serves in the National Honorary Chairpersons for WE-TIP, a non-profit anonymous tip line that aids in crime prevention.

Eric Braeden - Victor Newman

Another veteran from the show, he joined the cast in 1980, two years after Doug Davidson. He was the leading male figure/villain and founder of Newman Enterprises, a rather important role throughout the series. Apart from the show, he also appeared in various shows and movies, even in Titanic and How I Met Your Mother. He's a German-born American actor, and on July 20, 2007, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Peter Bergman - Jack Abbott

Jack Abbott was played by actor Peter Bergman, who joined the show in the late 80s and appeared in nearly 3000 episodes. As an actor, he appeared in 12 TV movies/ series throughout his career, including shows like The 5 Mrs. Buchanans and Woman on the Ledge.

Joshua Morrow - Nicholas Newman

Actor Joshua Morrow played Nicholas Newman - in 1994, Morrow auditioned for The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS Network and was later cast on The Young and the Restless. Apart from the show, he also appeared in shows, and movies, such as A Killer Walks Amongst UsGolden Shoes, and Tentacle 8. He also enjoys racing and participates in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Pro/Celebrity Race.

Sharon Case - Sharon Collins

Sharon Collins has quite an interesting life within the show - she was married to various characters and families throughout the show. The actress behind the character is Sharon Case, and she also appears in various shows and movies - she appeared twice in Beverly Hills, 90210, and starred in Valley of the Dolls. Melody Thomas Scott - Nikki Newman

Melody Thomas Scott joined the cast in 1979, just a year after Doug Davidson. As the show progresses, we witnessed her transformation from a girl to a leading lady. She appeared in various well-known series during her acting career, including The Waltons and movies such as The Fury starring Kirk Douglas. 

Kate Linder - Esther Valentine

Another veteran from the show, Kate Linder, made her appearance as Esther Valentine in 1973 at the age of 26. She appeared in more than 2000 episodes of the show, with recent appearances in movies such as Mother's DayMiss Meadows, and Hysteria. She's the fourth actor to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame based solely on acting on a soap opera.

Christian Jules Le Blanc - Michael Baldwin

Christian Jules Le Blanc first joined the cast in 1991, departed in 1993, then made his return in 1997. He won three Emmys for “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series” for his role as Michael Baldwin in the show. Outside the show, he appeared in different shows and movies such as In the Heat of the NightPerry Mason: The Case of the Killer Kiss, and The Disturbance at Dinner. He appeared in The Tennessee Williams Literary Festival in 2011.

Amelia Heinle - Victoria Newman

A relatively new face to the show, Amelia Heinle joined the cast in 2005 but have been making regular appearance ever since. Her character, Victoria Newman, is the daughter of the rich and powerful Victor and Nikki Newman. Outside of the show, she appeared mostly in TV series, including Loving and All My Children. She also appeared in feature films such as The Limey.

Kristoff St. John - Neil Winters

Kristoff St. John joined the cast in 1991 and appeared in 1783 episodes. His character in the show, Neil Winters, is the legal father of Lily Winters, the adoptive father of Devon Hamilton, and the biological father of Moses Winters. He also made appearances in feature films such as 20 Ft Below: The Darkness Descending. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2019 at the age of 52.

Michelle Stafford joined the rest of the cast in 1994 and returned to reprise her role in June 2019. Her role in the show is Phyllis Summers, the daughter of George Summers and Lydia Callahan. She appeared in feature films such as ParkerDouble Jeopardy, and 3 Days Gone. She's also the founder and CEO of Skin Nation, specializing in a range of natural, organic skincare products. 

Eileen Davidson - Ashley Abbott

Eileen Davidson is the original Ashley Abbott in the show. Starting from 1982 till 1988 when actress Brenda Epperson took over after her departure from the show; Davidson made her return in 1999, till 2006, with various appearances in the years that followed. She also appeared in feature films such as The Guest House and TV series such as Days of Our Lives.

Jess Walton - Jill Abbott Atkinson

Jess Walton joined the cast in June 1987 as Jill Abbott Atkinson and won multiple awards for her performance in the show. Throughout her career, she also appeared in other TV series such as Capitol and Cannon, as well as TV movies such as Christmas with a View and The Return of Mod Squad.

Greg Rikaart - Kevin Fisher

In 2003, after appearing in Dawson's Creek, Greg Rikaart joined the rest of the cast as Kevin Fisher. He also won an Emmy for his role in the show and was nominated on numerous occasions. He also made appearances in shows like Days of Our Lives and Major Crimes, as well as feature films such as X2: X-Men United.

Tracey E. Bregman: Lauren Fenmore Baldwin

Tracey E. Bregman joined the cast in January 1983 as Lauren Fenmore - she also appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful before returning to the show in September 2001. She received her first Emmy for her performance in the show back in 1985, with numerous in the years that followed. Outside the show, she also appeared in Days of Our Lives and featured film Happy Birthday to Me.
