Laura Prepon Mourns Her Late Brother Brad Prepon

Just days after burying her brother, the actress turned to social media to process her grief in a heartfelt post. Along with her tribute, Prepon shared a string of throwback photos spanning their childhood through their adult years.

Laura Prepon is mourning her late brother, Brad Prepon, following his sudden death at age 48. The actress took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 5, to remember him in an emotional tribute.

"This past weekend, we laid my brother to rest," Prepon began. "He passed away suddenly from an unknown heart condition — it was a devastating shock. For those of you who knew Brad, I'm so happy he touched your lives."

"For those who didn't, we lost a singular, beautiful, inimitable force. I will miss my brother every day, and carry him in my heart always," she continued. "If you feel something may be off, please listen to your instinct and get it checked out. Hug the ones you love.❤️"

Alongside her message, Laura shared a carousel of memories with Brad, including several childhood photographs. One image captures Laura as a young girl standing beside her brother.

She sports curly reddish-blonde hair and a white short-sleeve top featuring a Strawberry Shortcake graphic, while Brad, standing to her left, has short brown hair and wears a blue tank top trimmed in mustard yellow.

Brad is pictured in a dark suit paired with a striped shirt and patterned tie, while Laura sits beside him in a white long-sleeve top, her wavy hair loose and her lips a bold red, a ring visible as she rests her clasped hands near her face.

Brad passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2026, according to his obituary. Born in New York City on April 19, 1978, to Michael and Marjorie Prepon, he was raised in Watchung, New Jersey, and graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School as part of the class of 1996.

He went on to attend Franklin & Marshall College, graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, while also making his mark as a standout member of the school's tennis program.

After relocating to California in 2002, Brad stayed close with Laura and their three other sisters right up until his death on July 15. Throughout his life, he remained devoted to his twin passions: world history and tennis.

"He possessed an insatiable curiosity and was constantly studying and expanding his knowledge, with a particular interest in World War II," his obituary read.

Above all, Brad will be remembered through the qualities that made him uniquely himself — a "singular, inimitable force" who left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
