A west London school is already lined up, and a “massive party” might be in the cards someday. The singer opens up about parenting on the move, her relationship, and what the future could hold for her family.

Suki Waterhouse has learned to juggle motherhood with her singing career, and it was quite the challenge when it came to going on tour.

The 34-year-old mom of one, who has been traveling on a bus while on her “Loveland” tour, found it especially tricky to find a suitable crib for her toddler daughter while on the bus.

She searched online until she finally found a model that would fit inside the bus’s sleeping bunk. Luckily, her daughter seems to understand what life on the road is like. Speaking to The Times, she shared, “I said to her the other day, ‘What’s mumma’s job?’ And she was like, ‘Your shows!’”

At the end of each show, Waterhouse returns to her tour bus, where her daughter is usually asleep, with the singer’s mother watching over her. What makes the whole situation work, according to Waterhouse, is a set routine.

“I’m such a millennial in my mumness. I’m quite structured, I’m quite Instagram mum,” she said. “And by the way, I love the schedule. It means that she’s happy. And it means that the craziness and the chaos of being on tour works, because I stick to it.”

Waterhouse acknowledges that being away from her daughter isn’t easy, especially since, “Your body is basically on fire to be close to your baby, and that doesn’t really go away,” she said.

Waterhouse shares her daughter with actor Robert Pattinson, also a busy man, filming several projects since mid-2024, including “The Odyssey” and “Dune: Part Three.”

Between Waterhouse’s shows and Pattinson’s film career, their family has been constantly on the move. “Our life since having our daughter, which is strange and backwards, hasn’t been anywhere. We’ve been in rentals and moving every couple of months and we just haven’t been home,” Waterhouse said. “It’s been wherever we can base ourselves and wherever we can stay together as a family.”

The couple met in 2018 at a house party in Los Angeles. They got engaged in late 2023, shortly after Waterhouse announced her pregnancy by opening her coat and revealing her baby bump while onstage at a festival in Mexico.

Despite the challenges of their demanding careers, Waterhouse says their relationship has only grown stronger. “It is almost a decade and that is a beautiful thing,” she said. “It’s a thing that I go, I can’t believe that I have this in my life and I can’t believe that I’m so happy.”

Though wedding plans have yet to be set, Waterhouse said, “It would either be all or nothing,” adding, “If we were going to go for it, we’d have a massive party, blow it out.”

The couple plans to take some downtime next year, possibly settling in the UK, where Waterhouse has already signed their daughter up for a primary school in west London.

As for parenting amid their busy careers, Waterhouse said, “I feel very confident that we’re great parents and juggling a slightly abnormal life, but I feel good about how we’re doing it and we are both just so connected to her. She’s such a wonderful, happy girl.”
