One dismissive comment was all it took for the "Where Is My Husband!" hitmaker to pull out the receipts. Meanwhile, fans hoping for new music may have to wait until her love life takes a turn.
Raye, whose real name is Rachel Keen, is proving her talents reach far beyond her best-known hits.

Over the weekend, the British singer-songwriter turned to social media to respond to a troll who had labeled her a "one hit wonder" in the comments of one of her videos.
In a clip posted to TikTok, Raye spotlighted the remark while showing off three Spotify plaques for songs that have each surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform: "Escapism" with 070 Shake, "Prada" with Cassö and D-Block Europe, and "Where Is My Husband!"
"Not being petty just saying," she wrote in the caption. The online critic had left the comment under a video the artist shared at the end of August, which gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how "Where Is My Husband!" came together.
With more than a decade of releases under her belt, the Grammy-nominated star has scored three top-10 hits in her native U.K. She has also charted three times on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. with "Escapism," "Born Again" with Lisa and Doja Cat, and "Where Is My Husband!"
Beyond her own catalog, Raye has written songs for icons such as Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé. Her work has brought her four Grammy nominations to date, including nods for Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical.
Both of her albums, "My 21st Century Blues" and "This Music May Contain Hope," were also recognized with nominations for the U.K. and Ireland's prestigious Mercury Prize.

"This Music May Contain Hope" dropped in March and produced a global smash in "Where Is My Husband!," a track whose lyrics were inspired by her real-life search for love.
During an August interview on "Today," the star revealed that her third album will be titled "And Then She Fell in Love," but there's a catch: she won't record any material for the project until the title rings true.
"I'm on strike, basically. I'm on strike from making an album until I fall in love basically," Raye shared on the "3rd Hour of Today." "Because, do you know what it is? I've written so many songs."

"Picture this: I've been a songwriter for a really long time and your perspective… my perspective has largely just been, 'This didn't work out or this sucks or I'm alone. My ex that time, or my ex that time.' So I'm just very bored of that perspective," she continued.
Co-host Craig Melvin clarified, "Wait, you're not gonna put out another album until you find Mr. Right?" Raye was quick to confirm, saying, "Absolutely. I'm hard-set. It could be 10 years, guys."

When weatherman Al Roker pointed out that it might not take that long, Raye replied, "That's the optimist's perspective. I'm gonna hold that." Either way, the singer is ready to embrace a new chapter in her creative process.
"I'm just really excited to find another project, see what happens in life and just enjoy the twists and turns, do all that stuff," she shared.
Raye first opened up about her plans for the third album during a TikTok live back in March, saying, "I'm not gonna write a single song on that album, not one single song is getting written until I fall in love."
"Because it's enough 'I'm single, this guy done me wrong, this sucks about this and that' songs. I'm tired of writing songs like that. The end. No. So my next album is gonna be called 'And Then She Fell in Love,' and I will fall in love and I will write an album," she added.
