Keeping secrets is nothing new for Sink, who spent years dodging "Stranger Things" spoiler hunters. This time around, though, she admits the stakes feel even higher.

Sadie Sink is set to make her Marvel debut in the much-anticipated "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," set for release later this month. The actress, 24, will appear in a mystery role that will only be revealed once the film hits theaters.

Sink opened up about her latest role during a recent interview with Nylon, published Wednesday, July 1, revealing she was offered the part without an audition or a script.

Given Marvel's dedication to keeping secrets under wraps, she didn't even receive the script until she landed in London for filming. "You just don't share the secret, it's not that hard," she told the outlet about staying tight-lipped, something she's used to doing from her "Stranger Things" years.

Still, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about who she'll play in the upcoming film. While she's already part of one major franchise, stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe still felt like uncharted territory.

"I knew that Marvel was a big deal and had a big brand, especially Spider-Man," she said. "I know there's a huge fan base, but it feels really big. I think these blockbuster movies are a whole different beast."

She credited Tom Holland, who stars as the titular hero, with helping her settle in.

"It was interesting stepping into that space and being a little bit of an outsider in that way, but he could not have been more welcoming, and just the whole crew in general," she shared. "He was just so relaxed and open, and I felt very at ease."

Alongside Holland, Sink joins Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, Jacob Batalon, and Mark Ruffalo, all of whom are reprising their Marvel roles for the film.

"It's a brand new day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control," a synopsis for the action flick reads.

"But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves - a powerful villain no one can even see," it continues. "The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn't forgotten them."

Sink first opened up about landing the role during a December 2025 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, admitting she was caught off guard by the offer given her longtime fandom.

"Oh, it was crazy," she recalled. "I found out while we were wrapping up season five [of Stranger Things]. Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom's Spider-Man, especially."

She continued, "To be a fan of something and then join it is a familiar feeling for me, because I was a fan of Stranger Things before I joined the show, but I was super excited about what they had planned."

Sink also noted that she'd previously worked with the "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" director on a film from her younger years, 2017's "The Glass Castle." "So it's kind of a full-circle moment. I had an amazing time working on that film," she said.

"I can't wait to talk about it more. There's so much I want to share," Sink added. "That's why I feel like keeping Stranger Things secrets are kind of easy because I have so many Spider-Man secrets I'm sitting on that feel even more secretive."
