Kelly Osbourne Recalls Her Last Conversation with Dad Ozzy Before His Death

In a candid podcast appearance, Kelly Osbourne detailed the heartbreaking yet loving exchange she shared with her father in his final days. The revelation offers a rare, intimate look at how the Osbourne family said goodbye.

Kelly Osbourne is opening up about her last conversation with her father, Ozzy Osbourne. The pair spoke for what would turn out to be the final time, just days before the "Black Sabbath" frontman passed away last year.

Kelly recounted the exchange during a recent appearance on Paul C. Brunson's "We Need To Talk" podcast, published Wednesday, September 15. She revealed that the rock legend was determined to share an emotional moment with his youngest daughter.

"He sat me down and said, 'Tots, I need you to know something… No matter what happens in this life, you can live the rest of your life knowing that there was one man on this planet that truly loved you. That truly loved you for every single thing you are. And that man is me,'" she said.

Overcome with emotion, Kelly admitted the conversation brought her to tears at the time, though Ozzy tried his best to console her.

"I started to cry, saying, 'Please don't talk like this,' because he said, 'You know, I'm not going to be here forever, and I know you struggle with people and believing you are loved. But I love you more than anyone,'" she recalled. "Three days later, he was gone."

At the time of Ozzy's death, Kelly was newly engaged to former Slipknot frontman Sid Wilson, with whom she shares son Sidney, 3. The couple has since called off their engagement.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kelly commended her mother, Sharon Osbourne, 73, for helping the rocker "die the happiest you've ever seen him," thanks to his band's Back to the Beginning farewell concert on July 5, 2025.

"All he wanted before leaving this planet was one last show, one more time," Kelly said. "My mum worked her arse off to make that happen. It was one of the most incredible moments in music history. It'll never be anything like that again."

"I mean, in my eyes, in the world of rock and roll, it outlives even Woodstock because it was all the people that got to be who they are because of him coming to pay tribute to him. And he got to say goodbye, and he got to say thank you. That's all he wanted to do. And then he let go."

Sharon previously opened up about her own final moments with her husband on "Piers Morgan Uncensored" in December, sharing that he woke her in the middle of the night. "I said, 'I'm already bloody awake, you've woken me up,'" she said. "And he said, 'Kiss me.' And then he said, 'Hug me tight.'"

Kelly has been candid about the profound grief she's carried since her father's passing, telling HELLO! Magazine in August that her life has been irrevocably altered.

"I'll never be the person I was before my father died… a part of me died, too," she said. "I'm different. Everything has changed, but it's just taking it one day at a time and putting the pieces back together in a way that you think will work."
