Hollywood's latest psychological thriller just got a glamorous send-off, and its two leading ladies made sure all eyes were on them. Between their show-stopping outfits and playful red carpet antics, the stars proved their chemistry extends well beyond the screen.

Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson shared a sweet moment on the red carpet during the premiere of their new film, "Verity." The event took place on Tuesday evening, September 29, at New York City's AMC Lincoln Square.

Johnson stunned in an ivory two-piece adorned with shimmering crystal fringe. Her bralette-style crop top featured a sweetheart neckline and delicate spaghetti straps, with strands of beaded fringe dangling from the hem just above her bare midriff.

She paired the top with a matching high-waisted maxi skirt draped in cascading crystal strands, finished with a daring thigh-high slit on one side. The actress completed the look with white strappy square-toe sandals featuring a gold chain ankle strap.

For jewelry, she opted for a sparkling diamond choker and small hoop earrings. Her long brunette hair was styled half-up with a small top knot, framed by her signature full bangs. A bold red lip and a matching red manicure and pedicure added a vibrant pop of color against the all-white ensemble.

Hathaway, meanwhile, channeled old Hollywood glamour in a dramatic black strapless gown. The fitted sweetheart bodice was richly embellished with textured beading, sequins, and three-dimensional appliqués, and it flowed into a voluminous tulle skirt.

The skirt glittered with sequins arranged in a diagonal pattern, while a sheer black tulle panel cascaded from behind into a sweeping train along the carpet. The actress accessorized with statement drop earrings set with green stones, stacked diamond bracelets on her left wrist, and sparkling rings on both hands.

She wore her dark hair sleek and swept back from her face with a black headband, letting the length fall straight behind her shoulders. Soft, glowing makeup, a nude-pink lip, and a deep burgundy manicure rounded out her elegant red carpet look.

The two actresses arrived together, embracing and sharing a few laughs as photographers snapped away. In one image, the pair can be seen pointing at each other's bellies and doubling over in laughter.

Hathaway and Johnson star opposite one another in "Verity," an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's 2018 novel of the same name. Ahead of the premiere, Hathaway weighed in on what director Michael Showalter recently described as an "erotic" moment in the movie.

Showalter, 56, told Variety in an interview published September 23 that he, Hathaway and Johnson developed a steamy makeout scene for the film that was improvised and does not appear in Hoover's book.

Hathaway, however, remembered things a little differently. "I don't remember it being improvised because I pitched it," she said. "So I think that maybe what was improvised was the scream at the end."

She went on, "I don't know. I was just thinking about how this book got under my skin, and so much of the book is about obsession and not being able to get something out of your head."

She continued, "There was so much about what Lowen has going on and her obsession with Verity, and her trying to become Verity, and her hunger. I don't know I think I was just doing the dishes and I had this scene, and I pitched it to Michael."

"I remember this happening. I hope this is how it happened. It wound up in the movie," she added. "And then right at the end of it, that was when Michael, the last take was like, 'Dakota, scream.' She's like, 'Really?' He was like, 'Just scream.'"

According to Hathaway, Johnson more than delivered. "She let out this scream. I was right here when she did it, and it was one of the coolest, best screams I had ever seen. I'm a big fan of [screams]."

"I don't know why, I just love screams in movies and I was like, 'That's an all-timer. That was great.' And it's great in the movie," Hathaway said.

"Verity" is set to hit theaters on October 2.
