Jelly Roll has finally spoken out on his divorce from his wife of nearly 10 years, Bunnie Xo — and he did it entirely on his own terms. The rapper and singer-songwriter paused a concert in Saratoga Springs, New York, on Thursday, June 18, to address their split directly with the crowd.

"I wasn't going to talk about this tonight, but while we're talking about liars, the internet's a liar too," Jelly told a rapturous audience, in a video shared on his Instagram page. "It's the only time and the only city I'm gonna speak about this, so break your camera phones out now."

He was quick to set the record straight on the nature of their relationship. "Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends," the country star continued. "We just got off the phone today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it, every word of it is the truth."

Jelly closed out his remarks with a heartfelt tribute to Bunnie. "That is my best friend forever. [...] Bunnie, I love you baby. Thank you for those ten years. They were incredible. Thank you for the next ten years of friendship, and the twenty beyond that," he added.

In a separate clip obtained by Page Six, Jelly said that Bunnie will "probably be the only woman I will ever love the way I loved her." The sentiment closely mirrored Bunnie's own words — she was the first to address the split on her "Dumb Blonde" podcast, also on June 18.

The country star had quietly filed for divorce from Bunnie on May 18, citing irreconcilable differences, with May 9 listed as their official separation date. The news only became public at the start of last week, and shortly after, a source close to Jelly offered some context on what led to the breakdown.

According to the insider, Jelly and Bunnie "always had a complicated dynamic" stretching back to the earliest days of their relationship. When they first met, Jelly was struggling financially while Bunnie worked as a sex worker.

A platonic friendship eventually deepened into romance in 2016, and the pair got engaged and married that same night — without telling friends or family.

"When they first got together, they were both in a very different place in their lives," the source said. "There was a lot of chaos, ups and downs, and they built a life together through all of that."

The insider pointed out that Jelly — whose career has skyrocketed in recent years, and who has shed nearly 300 lbs. — has "changed a lot." "He's very focused on his future, his health and being around for a long time," the source continued. "There wasn't a moment where everything fell apart."

"They still love each other but were no longer on the same page about certain things, including what they wanted their future to look like. People saw the public side of things, but there was a lot more going on privately," the source added.

On her podcast, Bunnie has since acknowledged that the separation was not mutual — but says she has made her peace with it. She also revealed that Jelly is already dating again, and in characteristically candid fashion, encouraged her listeners not to hold back.

"Don't be scared. Shoot your [expletive] shot," she said. "I will be the ex-wife, okay? And we'll have a great time."
