One of the images included in Reynolds' post showed the pair sitting beside each other in outdoor chairs, while another captured them embracing near a waterfall. The tribute quickly drew attention online as fans reacted to the actor's public show of support for his wife.
The couple share four children together: James, 11, Inez, 9, Betty, 6, and Olin, 3. However, the "Deadpool" actor and the "Gossip Girl" alum have largely kept their family life away from public attention since marrying in September 2012.

Still, Lively recently shared a rare insight into her relationship with her children during her appearance at the 2026 Met Gala on May 4.
The actress attended the event in an archival Atelier Versace gown from spring 2006, paired with custom Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and a personalized handbag featuring artwork created by her children.

Speaking with Vogue on the red carpet, Lively explained that each of her four children contributed a watercolor painting that was incorporated into the design.

"My kids each painted a watercolor painting," she said. "Each of my four kids did this, so I have them with me." The actress also joked that she could have hidden her children underneath the dramatic gown.

Settlement Ends High-Profile "It Ends with Us" Legal Battle
Reynolds' Mother's Day tribute arrived less than a week after Lively and Baldoni reached a settlement in their legal dispute connected to the film adaptation of "It Ends with Us."

The legal battle began in December 2024 when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment and accusing him and other defendants of orchestrating a retaliatory smear campaign intended to damage her reputation.

Baldoni later responded with a $400 million countersuit against both Lively and Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and breach of contract. That countersuit was dismissed in June 2025.
On May 4, legal representatives for both parties confirmed they had reached a settlement agreement shortly before the case was expected to go to trial in New York City.

According to reports, the agreement still allows Lively to pursue legal fees and damages against Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties despite the broader settlement resolving the dispute.
While neither Reynolds nor Lively directly addressed the legal case in the Mother's Day tribute, the actor's message appeared to signal unwavering support for his wife following months of public scrutiny surrounding the high-profile dispute.
