The newlyweds turned heads on the red carpet Wednesday night, but it was Zendaya's words that stole the spotlight. Her heartfelt admission echoed sentiments Tom himself had voiced just weeks earlier.

The couple stepped out for the U.K. premiere of their new film, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," on Wednesday evening, July 29, and predictably, both arrived dressed to impress.

Zendaya looked radiant in an ivory and champagne off-the-shoulder gown, featuring a fitted, sweetheart bodice with ruched detailing and delicate metallic beading running vertically down the fabric.

The straps trailed into thin, jewel-strand loops draped over her upper arms, creating a cascading, chain-like effect at the shoulders.

The gown hugged her figure in a mermaid silhouette through the hip before flaring into a train, with the beadwork fading into sheer, unembellished fabric near the hem.

She wore her hair down in loose, voluminous curls, opting for dangling drop earrings and a diamond ring. Beside her, Tom wore a burgundy double-breasted suit with peak lapels, paired with a matching tie and a crisp white dress shirt.

He added a subtle nod to the franchise with a spider-shaped pin fastened to his tie knot, finishing the ensemble with black leather boots. His hair was styled in his natural curls, kept short on the sides.

Speaking with MTV UK on the red carpet, Zendaya was asked whether she has a lifelong friend in her career she feels grateful to have grown up alongside.

"Well, Tom, obviously, my best friend, but being able to do these films with him is a privilege, and I love to be able to grow together and watch him," the "Euphoria" actress shared. "I mean, he's the best."

Her comments arrive more than a month after Tom expressed similar feelings in a cover interview with Esquire, published on June 16. The pair first crossed paths when they were cast opposite one another in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in 2016.

For years, Zendaya, 29, and Tom, 30, insisted they were simply close friends, even as speculation about a romance trailed the co-stars. Their characters, Peter Parker and MJ, shared their first on-screen kiss in 2019's "Spider-Man: Far From Home."

Their relationship was eventually publicly confirmed in July 2021, when the pair were photographed kissing in a car, thrusting it further into the spotlight.

"Our business can present very stressful situations and it's really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time," Tom said.

He continued, "We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don't understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else."

"So, for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I ever have been when I'm with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period. Maybe when I was young with my parents and my dad was picking me up from school. Not to say that our relationship is like my mum and dad," he joked.

It was during this same interview that Tom confirmed he and Zendaya had officially married, following remarks from Zendaya's stylist and close friend Law Roach, who told reporters at separate events that the wedding had "already happened."

AI-generated photos of the couple soon flooded social media, a trend Tom admitted he found amusing, though his grandmother worried she hadn't been invited after seeing them.

Asked whether he'd had to reassure any other family members, he kept his answer short. "No, because they were all there," he said, before adding, "That's all you'll get on that."
